A Dallas man's sentence in the 2006 murder of a 22-year-old Rusk County man has been overturned, and he must have a new punishment trial, according to the Texas 6th Court of Appeals. Michael Alan Loun was convicted of the murder of Jack Edward "Trey" LePelley III during his second trial for the crime in August 2007. Sentencing makes no sense! There's some people who get the death penalty for murder and some who get 10 years (could be paroled in 5 years)!

I agree. The sentencing system is a joke. My son is in for agg. robbery. First offense. and he got 13 years. I know that it is a 5 to 99 crime, some of the other worse crimes in my opinion get far less of a sentence.
