Default early termination of supervised release?

This topic has been discussed before, but I am wondering if anyone has any new and/or anecdotal information to share. I will become eligible for early termination in April '06, and (of course) I'm hoping my probation officer will be willing to make the recommendation to the court. I think I have a pretty good shot- I have fulfilled all my court ordered obligations (home confinement, community service, etc.), clean UA's, productively self-employed, always polite to my PO.

Has anyone tried and succeeded? Tried and failed?

Thanks.

Just curious, how long will you have been on supervised release at that time? (April 06)

April '06 will be one year of supervised release, halfway through the 2 years ordered by the judge.

I have three years but my attorney stated he could motion the court after I had been on probation for one year. Was it your PO who stated you had to wait until you had served half?

My guy is already talking about doing this, and he's still in the halfway house and won't be going on the books until early January. With complete compliance and clean tests, it should be fairly easy to do. Let us know how it goes!

Both my husband and I had to do our entire time - we each did five full years.

I read some USPO guidelines somewhere, which said eligibility for e/t begins at halfway, but must be at least a year. For me, it happens to be the same time. The only thing I could see snagging me up would be the "aggravated role in the offense" clause, since I acted alone. However, my offense was relatively minor, so maybe that won't be so important. Then again, I know the feds aren't in the business of being "nice," and 1 year of supervised release would be pretty "nice," so I guess I'll just wait'n'see.

My understanding is that a PO recommendation for e/t makes a big difference. Without it, you need a lawyer, and your chances are slim– especially if the PO actively opposes it.

I'm still hoping to hear an encouraging success story...
