How long until a new Texas prison inmate can make phone calls?

Okay sooo I'm a very impatient person and I worry too much... But when can I expect my LO to call after catching chain Monday and arrive to his assigned unit on Thursday

Anywhere from a few days to a few weeks--depends on when your phone is ready and when he can do voice recognition. No reason to worry about him not calling at this point--it's just the system and it takes some time.
