Default Heroin on the inside

Recently I found out he's been using heroin pretty regularly. I can't believe how easy it is to get it. I now understand why our phone calls have been so erratic. I feel helpless and just want him to get healthy. He says it's ok because I drink a lot. We 've tried getting sober together but just end up arguing. Any suggestions? Thanks

Perhaps take a step back from the relationship and concentrate on you for a while. Attend some AA and Al-anon meetings. He's responsible for him / his behavior, you're responsible for YOU.

You need to focus on yourself and your sobriety first. Stressing out and worrying about him is only going to trigger you to drink more. Also it is not healthy as someone in the process of recovering to be in a relationship with another addict. It is a hard road to getting sober and when you have another person doing that road it makes for an unpleasant relationship filled with nasty ups and downs, which triggers you and also makes you relapse. While he is in and using take a break and help yourself, you can't help him he has to do that but you can help yourself.

I cannot only agree with the others above but I will add something: you are not in a healthy relationship - the only relationship you're both having are with your addictions. This screams downward spiral to me. Either keep on going and end up at some really dark place or get out of this nightmare-relationship with your addiction plus addicted bf and take care of yourself, rehab, therapy, off everthing!

I agree with others. You cannot get him healthy he needs to want to do that and it seems he does not as he is choosing the to justify his addiction using yours. You should chose you chose your health and getting sober as your priority. He can chose what he wants to chose but he he will chose to drag you down if you let him.

OP, I don't know if you are, but if you are sending him any cash, cut it off - don't enable his heroin habit.
