Default Do you frequent Farmer's Markets?

I can't wait until the end of May for ours to open up.

I prefer supporting local farmers and we also help out at an apple stand a few weekends in June.

Ours is only on the weekends

I cannot wait for the season to begin here.... throughout the summer around here, there are 4 different markets on 4 different days within a 30 mile circle, so I can serve up really fresh, organic or nearly organic, local produce every day of the week..... this year, I'm going to try my hand at canning some of the local bounty.

Constantly! I have friends who do organic gardening commercially and who exchange goods with others who are more distant so they can have a full range of produce (and cooked, canned or dried goods), and so I can check their calendar to find any of the 15 or so markets around me.

I love them! It is so much cheaper the grocery store and the ones in my area are outside and usually sell stuff like lemonade and little snacks. The kids always have a blast when we go. I cant wait!

We only have one where I live but it's more expensive than the stores around here so I never go. We do however have a place here called The Fruit Packers and I go there all the time. It's an offshoot of the Sunrype factory and they sell really cheap produce. Mostly fruit but they do get in veggies - it's always a little bit different so always fun to go.

i love farmers markets. Not so many in my area tho. So my neighbors and i give our extras from our gardens to each other. We all grow different things.

We have a farmers market and a lot of roadside vendors during the spring and summer. I prefer the roadside stands because they're closer but I agree the selection from both are just as good as the price.

My kids too! My daughter started kindergarten this year and the class made a book of 'favorite summer activities' and I blushed when she listed "Farmers market" as one of the favorite summer activities on her page.

I love the farmers market where i live. Its small but the produce is wonderful and cheap. Plus they sell other things like flowers and crafts. I also go to raodside fruit/veggie stands.

I LOVE the fresh flower bouquets as well. I get a nice bushel for $5.00!

We also have local butchers and a each week they feature a local musician.

This makes me excited for summer!

I don't visit the farmer's market as much as I should. I told myself that I would do better this summer. Veggies from grocery stores, especially Walmart, don't do it for me.

I'll remind you all summer long.

The children will enjoy it as well. It's enjoyable 'family time' and it's cleaner and more tolerable than going to Chuck E. Cheese

Farmer's Markets are wonderful!! Alas, they're only open on the weekends here too, but do have "flea market" items as well. Lots of booths. I have my own organic garden....one of my grandson's favorite things to do when he's here is "feed the worms" (take out the compost LOL) If there is a co-op in your area, you can get many items much cheaper and of better quality than Wally World or Kroger (I detest both by the way).
