Exclamation Is it Possible to speed up the deportation process??

Hi everyone...My boyfriend is currently in jail till 2017..he has already met with immigration and been told he will be deported at the end of his sentence in 2017. My question is there a way the speed up his deportation instead of us waiting out the 6 year sentence?

there are only a couple of states that were participating in a program that would allow the inmate to do half of their state time and then they would be given to ICE....i am not even sure if the program still exists.

you might try and google it

If it is on a federal level, the US belongs to a treaty where the inmate can 'do' their sentence in their home country. The inmate needs to tell the warden that they want to do their sentence at home, the warden needs to approve the request, after that the State Department needs to approve the request and after that the home country needs to approve the request. If it is on a state level, not all states allow this. The process takes about 3-6 months. if you need more information pm me

My husband got a 16 yr sentence in Texas and he did 1/2 his time and is now in immigration custody so I am not sure how your state works. Good luck!!!
