Default I just started my Memory box. Anyone else do this?

I just started my memory box. A place to keep pictures, letters, cards, etc safe. I had them in my pocketbook with me all this time.

Man what a trip down memory lane. I laughed, cried, and mostly for the warm fuzzy feelings.

Anyone else do this?

I haven’t done this yet, but I need to. It’s a great idea. We’re only 3 months in and I already have a stack of stuff. I had been taking pictures of everything to store on my camera roll in case something happens to the originals, but I can tell i’m gonna run out of storage space soon!

I have one of those flat, but wide Rubbermaid boxes with all of his letters, the artwork he's sent, my wedding dress and originals of our photos. I guess if the house burns, I only have to grab one giant box. But, it's getting full.

We also have a "time capsule" to be opened in 2020, five years after our wedding date. It has a letter to each other and a letter to ourselves in it.

Yep we have one all of the letters and cards he sent me and almost all of the ones I've sent him. He's sent them home with me but kept a few pictures I've sent and the letters I've sent him over the past six months. Only because there is a process to send things home from this prison and he doesn't want to have to do it so he told me to not write every day maybe once a week until he comes home so he doesn't have alot to grab on his way out the door. I will write him a jpay everyday so that's good.

Only way I can explain it is a site you can go to to add money to an inmates account and/or a way to email them. I am in FL and that is how we put money on their account.

As for the memory box idea, we are several months in and I have already thought about starting one. We are having our first grandchild (due in June) and he is missing all of that. So I have started a box with things like the shower invite and stuff like that in it for him to have when he comes home.

I have one now. Includes our letters, pics, cards, and artwork. We also have made up an idea when he comes home and we get married to take a box and put something from the prison time, something from our date of marriage, and each a letter written to the other and bury it. That way if there ever comes a time when things get too hard we will be reminded as to why we started this in the first place.

I had gotten rid of a lot of the letters I had mainly because they really didn't say anything new and I have moved so much. All pictures I have and most of the cards. It's a shame some of them were very funny! But unfortunately I always believed I wouldn't need every line he wrote to me. Believe me had I known he would get sick I would never have gotten rid of anything.

That's really sweet. I'm going to do the same. And it would help to have everything in ones place lol

I wanted to do that, but I have a boot box from this winter and it works I'll eventually wrap it something. I'm happy they are in a safe place

I started putting all his letters inside plastic sleeves in a binder, so that eventually they will be (somewhat) in chronological order- as a book. Its a lot of work though, and I already need a second one.
