My Hubby will be home in Sept and how happy I am. I'm sure the time will go faster than I can imagine considering how fast the last few years have went.

I jus.t saw this thread! I'm excited and a little nervous, more excited. He comes home in May. He has been in since 2005, almost 12 years by the time he gets out. I thought the end would never come......

The post from 'flat nox' on Jan 9 say something really important. When we're away from someone we love for a long time, the reunion gets built up to be a huge thing. Then reality sets in. There are lots of feelings, to deal with - not just love but also anger and guilt. Not everything will be a bed of roses. I know this from my own recent experience. It was fantastic to see/be with my wife again - she's been an absolute hero over my mess - but the tensions we've always had are still there, plus some new ones from my stupidity. The love is still there too, though, built on many years together, so we're getting through it.
I'm not trying to squelch anyone's excitement or the pleasure of that reunion. Enjoy it! I'm just reminding us all that a relationship goes on over many days, and not all of them will be great. So we have to be committed to doing the work, having the heart to heart talks, sharing our bad feelings as well as our good ones, because the jail experience will in most cases produce lots of negatives that also have to be dealt with.
Again, I'm absolutely not trying to make anyone feel bad; if my post has done that I apologize. And for those of you who've waited and supported your LOs through this - well, you deserve a medal (but lol you probably won't get one....).

Smile 37 days to go!

My fiance has been away for almost five months now. He's due for release 03/20/17. Trying to stay positive. When is your loved one due for release?

I can not wait, for my husband to come home. I have been able to visit him, and its been 14 months since I got to hold him in my arms, he is finally coming home April 26th 2017 and I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas, I can not think straight, I have so many thoughts going through my head, I need to pull everything together or I am going to fall apart, I love him so much, and miss him more than words can ever say. We are down to 74 days, I hope they come fast

A very good friend of mine has a LO coming home soon. Not sure of the exact date but is is on or around April 1. I'd love to start a countdown for her but I'm not sure how since we don't know the definite date.

This is so hard. I want my husband back. There's this stranger that's using his name. He looks alot like my husband, but I don't know who he is or what to believe.

I want all of the good stuff we had together back. But that's just not realistic. I've stood by him thru 13 years of addictions. Each time I believed this time will be different. . .

I love my husband with all of my heart and soul. But I don't know who's coming home in August. If he's the asshole who was stoned out of his mind the last time I saw him, the one who went to prison, I don't want him back.

My head says to just end it. Right now.

I've tried to. I told everyone I know that I was done. But something won't let me stay away. They think I'm an idiot. There's too many days that I agree. I don't know why I've given him such power over me. I'm just as much an addict as he is.

But what if he's changed back into the man I met, fell in love with and married?

My heart tells me just one more time . . .
this time really will be different . . .

I am so afraid.

Mercifully this will only have been a 2 year journey when all is said and done. Halfway house in April, home in July. Not sure of exact dates. Depends on when he starts his 90 days in the halfway. I'm more nervous and scared than excited. I miss him. And I love him more than I can adequately describe. But we have a long road of work and building trust ahead of us. I can't be sure he has changed...but I do have hope.
