Hi. My husband is currently at Shelton yet he put in for Airway Heights the Pinelodge. He has been there for 3 weeks. After being together for 8 years this is tough. His release date is 1/11/05. Does it get any easier?

Welcome Tawnya! I don't know if it gets easier or we all just adjust. One day at a time is all we can ask. You have come to the right place. We'll get through this together!!

Hugs!

Hi, Alison:

The Superintendent is misinformed.

Our family has been paying a private counselor for several years to come twice a month to Monroe Reformatory to see my son. So a precedent has been set for your loved one to receive counselling.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

Sincerely,
Shoshana Powell

Question

WoW...reading through all of these....it seems as if I'm the only one with someone in Cedar Creek?? Has anyone heard of the rumor that there is 1/2 in January 2004 for all non violent, non sexual crimes, despite past criiminal history?

that would be wonderful if that rumor does end up being not a rumor at all. my b/f went in for 7 counts of felony theft, but it was non violent in relation to a business...but if that's what is really happening then that means he will only be in for 13 months instead of 26!

The visits at Stafford Creek start at 11:00 or 11:30 (can't remember right now) and go until 8:00 pm. You can stay for the whole time.. Fridays and Mondays are open visits for the whole prison, then they split the rest up and alternate each sat and sun.. So one week his visit is on sat. the next on Sun, so forth and so on.

They use debit cards for the snack machines. To get your first card you need a $1.00 bill then can add up to 20.00 on the card. Some people have two cards depending on how much you eat.. lol

When you get there you fill out a little form with his doc number then give it to the check in guard along with your id. They have lockers there to put your id, keys adn anything else you have - I typically leave everythign else in my car. The only thing you can take in is your debit card and the locker key. You are then put through, walk to the visit area another guard then assigns you a table and then you wait for him to come in. It usually doesn't take very long for them to come in.

He can have his dinner served to him in the visit and he can share it with you... lol

You are allowed one "brief" kiss and hug at the start and the end of the visit. Hands can only be above the table and the inmate always has to sit at the left side of the table. You can play games, cards, etc. You aren't supposed to walk around other than to go to the machines or bathroom. Do not let him ever use the debit card himself or he can get in trouble. You have to have it in your possession at all times...

Hmmm.. what else? Oh.. they do first in first out if the visit room gets full.. so if you plan on staying till late dont be one of the first ones there or you may have to leave if it gets overcrowded. I usually try to get there around 12:00 or 12:30.

My sweetie is currently @ the WSP in Walla Walla (yuk!) but he was at Stafford Creek before. For a prison, it was nice He got kicked outta there, though, for fighting, and from what I understand he is not allowed back there. Doh!

well, i hope my b/f doesn't get into any fights...he is more likely to try and stick to himself, though he has a previous celly from WCC writitng me to tell him hi, lol...my b/f is not the kind to be making friends, so maybe this will lighten him up justa bit...i know this is not the time to make friends, but it may be what he needs.

WolfesFaile2: This is the best time to be making friends-especially if he's going to be there a while. Good luck
