Unhappy Trust Fund deposit from UK to US?

Hi!

I'm trying to put money in my inmates trust fund account through GTL. He gave me his mom's number (you have to be an approved donator) so that it would be approved, but it asks for a 5 digit zip associated with the card and I don't have that since I'm in the UK!

Also some people are saying they don't even accept UK cards.. is there anyway to do this from the UK or should I just give up!?

Just give up. Using another persons info can be considered fraud.

Is it possible for you to get approved or call the company and see how you can do it? Can you wire it straight to his mom and then she puts it on?

No European credit cards are possible on GTL (for trust fund, just for buying stamps LOL) ! Even though it's tough, I switched to money orders. I bought them directly in the USA, I send the money order(s) every once in a while from Europe to GTL and my friend is getting it on the trust fund account. It is an alternative!

Gtl donít accept overseas credit cards unless you are buying phone or message credits. I agree ask his mum if you can send the money to her and she can fund the account for you.

Default ConnectNetwork charges from UK

Hi, can you tell me please, I live in England and canít also fund a prisoners account in Ohio as they wonít accept my card. I have to get someone from America to do it for me but there seems to be quite a big charge and it charges twice!! So if I send $300 100 for phone and 200 for commissionaire, they take about $70 charges out. Is this normal for them to charge so much?
Thanks
Andrew

$70 in charges is very high, western union fees are around $10 if you sending money via them to the USA. Then GTL and Jpay charges are both under $10 so I am not sure how you are being charged $70. Do you have a breakdown of the charges.

Hi Maytayah

Thanks for your reply I just found out the high charges are due to me having to send a one of payment to her friend, then her having to pay it for me via her card so 2 charges, I also canít put the zip code in so am stuck having to do it this way unless I can get an American credit card??

Hi guys, I am in the UK and struggled like mad to get funds to my LO. I ended up transferring to his friend via moneygram and then he sorted it direct to my inmate.
A lot of trust had to go into it! (I started with a one off of $50) but now it works really well, moneygram fees are cheap enough and it is an instant transfer :-) good luck! X x

I would not recommend sending money to a friend unless you absolutely know them and you are sure they are trustworthy.

I had to get a friend in the US to help me. I found that using paypal to send money to them is much cheaper than using MoneyGram or WesternUnion. Then they forward on for me.
