Default First Phone Call

Well I got to talk to my son Friday evening. He sounded good and is eagerly waiting for our first visit on the 7th of July. He really has his hopes up for judicial release.......he feels that since he has never been in prison before that he will get it.......I am so afraid that they will deny him and then his whole attitude will change........I'm worried.
If any of you know how judicial works.....please advise.

Thanks,
Sherry

I dont know much about Judicial releases, I have seen where there have been posts made about them before, and I certainly hope it all goes well with your son. I can imagine how excited he probably is for your visit day to arrive, it is always good to be able to sit and talk and visits do wonders for their morale, not to mention ours..... best of luck to you and your son! Im sure someone will be around shortly that can offer you some insight into the judicial release questions you have.

God never let us handle anything that he feels we couldnt be able to take on. I feel that your son will be back home to you soon just put your son's fate in Gods Hands he will never do wrong. Here"s hoping your visit goes well. Good luck on the JR, some judges just won't let you catch a break on them.

Default Warren Correctional

My mother called me this morning, my son had called her last nite, my son's cell mate was beat to death 2 days ago, one CO said he died and another said he is on life support., but my son said he seen him and I won't even go into what he discribed to my mom.......this has devistated my son.....I am so scared for him. I had seen on the local news 2 nites ago that they had Care Flighted a prisoner out of Warren Correctional to the hospital after a "fight". Thank God I get to visit him today........my mom said she can hear it in his voice that he is scared.
Please all of you pray for my son and his saftey.......as I do for all of you and your loved ones

Sherry

Hi Sherry
I am also a Sherry and a mother of a son in prison so I feel your fear and pain. Please keep us updated and know that you are not alone. I am scared every day and look at the answering machine several times a day if I was out of the room or maybe it rang during the night while I was asleep and fear something had happened to him. That is natural I think for us to feel that way. We learn to calm down some after some time has passed and it does get easier. Good luck hon with the judicial hearing and come talk to us often. We truly understand and know what you are going through.

Sherry
Thank you so much...........I know what you mean, It is just such a horrible feeling being sooooo helpless and having no control over anything that is going on around him........he is just so young and VERY nieve (spelling??) I hope that it does get easier.........The pain in my heart and this feeling of guilt of everything that I do, I know he would have love doing it too, everything that I eat, I wonder if he is hungry, I find it so hard to do or enjoy anything anymore. I know that 2 yrs is not forever but each day seems like forever. If you don't mind me asking, what prison is your son at? How long has he been in?
I will post tomarrow and let you all know how the visit goes.....I pray for no tears but I know that is not realistic.

Thanks to all of you for your listening ears and your words of hope and encouragement
Sherry

Hi Sherry....Gosh I relate so much to what you said about wondering if he is hungry when I eat something he loved like pizza, or not fully enjoying a movie that I know he would have been the first one in line to go see. He loved the Lord of the Rings series and I just cringed when I went to it Christmas without him. I could hardly stand watching it for thinking how much he would have loved it. The second best thing was sending him the book to read and he loved it. We are going to rent movies for weeks when he comes home. He is at a medium security prison in Alabama and will hopefully come home this Christmas. It will have been 2 years.

Sherry,

It is somewhat strangely comforting to know that I am not the only one that thinks that way.......I wish that I could send my son books but I can not send him ANYTHING only money.......if he wants anything he has to order it from some catalog.

Well the visit was WONDERFUL !!! I thought I would squeeze him in half......I did not want to let go !!
We talked the whole time, not one time was there silence, trying to think of something to say.......the last hour flew by.....it was sooooo hard to leave, I know he is a "man" because he is 18 but he is still and will always be my baby, my youngest and I was never suppose to be so helpless as his mother !!
I was proud of myself, I only cried a little, only after I left the prison.

We have another visit in a month..........Thank you ALL so much for listening and your support !!

Sherry

Hi Sherry,
I am going to see my son too this weekend. He can have visits every 2 weeks. When I go, he doesn't eat much for a day or two so that he can pig out on the food in the vending machines. It does my heart soooo good to see him eating things that he doesn't usually get. I am like you in that I keep thinking "that is my BABY what in the heck is he doing in here when he should be dating, going to college, working, driving, going to dances, and playing his guitar and playing with his little dog that he loves so much. I just try not to linger too long on those thoughts, but you can't help but have them. You are welcome for the support and thank you for yours!
Sherry
