Default Time Calculation - Street Time

How does street time (dys between release on parole and arrest on parole violation) count? Does free time count as time served?

From what I understand, the time they are our on parole deducts from what remains on their sentence. Then if they have time to serve for the violation, that time also is deducted from the sentence. The time spent waiting for the hearing & sentencing can be deducted if they have to serve time for the violation. My son had a 10 year sentence. He had 6 months to serve with the rest probation. So he had 9 1/2 years probation. He served the 6 months & was out a year before he had a violation. That meant he had 8 1/2 years left. Because of the violation, he had to serve 2 years of his sentence. That means when when he gets out in February, he'll have 6 1/2 years left on probation. He spent 42 days in jail after being arrested on the violation before he was sent to serve his 2 years. That 42 days was deducted from the 2 years he had to serve.

Yes u get credit for street time now and credit for time served while in jail waiting for parole hearing to determine what they are going to do.
