Default Sentence reductions

Found this tonight wanted to share.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23454471

I didn't know that inmates had to request sentence reductions from what I understood in this they do.

Does this only apply to people in Federal prison or state as well and does it matter what state the inmate is in?

Default These sentences are crazy!

These sentences are just crazy to me. Why spend (California) $675,000 to keep someone in prison for possession of crack. 15 years. These people have lost their minds. If someone wants to destroy themselves, personally I don't care that much. Give them 5 years of real Rehabiliation and if it takes, great. If it doesn't, that's too bad but they made their choice. They are a bigger danger to themselves than the public.
