No state can make you choose either/or! BOTH are worth fighting for! CFV's keep the family strong for everyone and gives him love, support, & hope to get through the days/nights till he comes home.

That was kind of a tuffy, but then I tried to think about it from Bobby's point of view. He said he would give up just about any type of perk in prison just to get out a day earlier. So there ya go.

I feel time reduction is much better. No my sweetheart and I aren't married but he is my soul mate, a lifer and already done 17 years. It got very hard for him and even a friend of mine emotionally looking at life and no end in sight with the way the parole board hearings are for lifers. They are sometimes years apart. My Sweetheart has always had me there to communicate all these years and it's so hard on everyone. As he stated to me over and over again nothing is more important than your freedom. Yes the visits would be nice for many but you still have to leave them behind where they were to begin with when the weekend is over. That can also be tormenting to the soul. If they can't get canned goods anymore how do you figure they are going to more quality family visits?

Hi Everyone,

My mans release date is March 29, 2018. I vote for anything that lets him walk though that door sooner. Even if its only one day, that's one less I have to be without him!

We can do without the sex. We want to be together, and we want our family whole. In our situation, we'd choose Good Time.

Default Good Time 30% in Oregon?

Does anyone know about Oregon increasing Good time to 30%? My longtime boyfriend was just sentenced to 60 months Good Time. But currently Oregon only has 20%. Thanks for your reply.

with reduced time you can spend all the time with your family that you want to. I would much rather have him home with us than in a trailer for 44 hours. How much bonding is actually done? I have a 2 year old son and time is precious with fathers at his age.

depends on what we are really talking about. in our situation, he has 25-life thanks to 3 strikes law. . . if we couldnt reduce a life sentence then i have to say bring back family visits for lifers so they can have quality time with their family! but if we could reduce the sentence itself, i would wait it out for a reduction as opposed to the full sentence with family visits.

excellent point. i think of how hard it is to leave my lifer behind now after a regular visit; honestly as much as i would love family visits for lifers, i dont know how i would walk out and leave him after having one. . .
i would absolutely want him to get a sentence reduction. . . maybe, if the 3 strikes reform goes back on the ballot next year and passes. . . . thats almost too good to think about right now.
so yes. i decided more important to me is getting him home sooner. i can live without the sex or the extended time together if i know he will actually be able to come home to me.

i would rather have my baby home than a conjucal visit, if they were allowed here. that would be awsome, but having him at home where i can make love to him in our own home, and hold him and touch him the way i really want to would be a whole lot better.

Default sentence reduction or extended family visits

I believe sentence reduction would be more important, because if it can cut your sentence down a few years or months, this will allow you all the time you need to spend with your loved ones because they will be home sooner.

for me because he is home sooner and I can make love to him whenever I want instead of being restricted or stuck in a dirty trailor where other people have had sex.

I would say extended visits.

Because the court will do what it wants anyways. He will be home... when they LET him come home.

But I probably feel that way because I only get to see my man 1 hour every 8 weeks... no contact visit. (6 hours a YEAR total) I would love to spend more time with him and if it was allowed... I would bring the kids to see him.

Goodtime. I would gladly give up family visits (don't have them anyway) to bring him home earlier.

Default visit/time

For us it has been the time off he will get out early and there is no way on earth for me and the kids to get to him all the way out there he had wrote something about the trailor thing and I thought that he was kidding... so it actually exsists... huh but youknow if the sentence is exteremly long visits would have to be better on the family as a whole I would think...but who am I to say this is all forigen to me anyway.

I would sooner have him get out sooner because I can't have family visits anyways. They should change it so that Fiance's can have family visits.

good time I want my man home plus the prisons are overcrowded and most men in there are rehabilitated way before they're time is up if they let the good men out there will be more room for the real criminals out there

Default Sentence Reduction

I voted for sentence reduction because I met my love after he was in so I would not be allowed conjucal visits. I want him home with me and the sooner the better.
