call lansing (517) 335-1426. My husband wasn't in the class he needed to be. He was transferred to prison that had it but no one was getting him registered for program. I called lansing. Then called his counselor and told her I called. Everything moved faster after that. he is a bit under a year from erd.

They give them the khaki's to wear upon release (my son had on his state black shoes). All the other guys being released also had on khakis (even when they were released from regular prison). You can't drop off clothes. I had to pick up my son from his parole office upon his release but he had to get the tether put on (I don't know why he needed a tether, he's not a SO). I haven't heard of release from DRC direct. You can call his PO (who should have contacted whomever your LO is going to live with) and ask. My son's PO was extremely helpful to me.

I heard they are now (starting this past week) allowing LO to be picked up directly from DRC when they are released. I guess final release day takes about 10 days to 2 weeks after program completion.

If you can't drive to Detroit Reentry how can you get a ride? My son is being released tomorrow and I am trying to figure this out. His PO said he is being released tomorrow and has to report to him and he does not what time he will be leaving from Detroit to Flint

Does anyone know if they made cuts to the DRC program? My LO been at DRC for 3 weeks now & still hasnt started his program. He got moved from the holding building to the one for people in their program a little over a week ago. He said they have a lot of empty beds and havent gotten new transfers for the classes lately.

I don't know if they made any cuts or not. My son got a ride on the 22nd and is home . The last time I knew there was a long waiting list. He didn't start the class right away. We are so happy to have him back. I wish I could tell you more, but this is all I know.

My LO finally started his program 3 weeks ago. He said it was 4 days a week when he first got there because they were trying to speed up the program in order to shorten the waiting list but now its back to 3 days. He said has a lot of free time and is really bored.

Has anyone else heard of visits being reinstated for paroles in the Bridges program? My LO called today and said he heard they were going to be able to get visits soon. I called the facility to find out but didnt get to talk to anyone.

My LO talked to the warden and was told that parolees in the Bridges program are now allowed visits. I have to send in a new application because he went there after a violation but if they came from a facility I dont think you have too. 8 weeks to go and he'll be home. I will be so happy to have him home again

My son is home now. He was not allowed visits when he was there. It was 4 days a week when he was there. He is trying very hard to find a job. The job market isn't the greatest right now. We give him lots of support and don't want him to relapse.
We are glad to have him back. Glad that we don't have those expensive phone calls either. He is in counceling too and that is a big plus.

Any updates on this DRC - Bridges program? Parolee gets out of Jackson 1/12/2014...goes directly to DRC - Bridges. Not sure what from there. Has to complete the "program"...then released on tether. Any new help to get someone through this mess? Thank you

My fiance's ERD is 3/11/14 from Bellamy Creek. His papers say he has to complete the Bridges program in Detroit, but he keeps hearing from his counselor and other inmates that due to funding cuts, all programs at Ryan Road have been closed starting after the first of the year. Has anyone else heard this or is it just false hope rumors? I just want him home but don't want to get my hopes up ... He was told there is a possibility that he can take the "program" on an outpatient basis, once released, if Ryan Road is indeed closing. Any input or help would be great! Thanks!!!

Default Ryan road closing

I received notice last week that parolee was reporting to Ryan Road today. I will keep you posted. Did you hear anything else about it?

How long does it take to complete the bridges program before being "out on the street" again? Any help. He is not a SO but is considered a violent offender. But I hear he has to complete the SO part of the program too. ??

The program lasts as long as it takes him to do his presentations and the work. It's at least 90 days, though. I heard there is a 4-5 month wait to get into the program once they hit DRC.

Default Re-Entry A Scam

Visits? They try to block them.
Yard? Hardly ever.
Drugs? Prolific there (like every other prison).
Boredom? Through the ROOF.
Idle? Through the ROOF.
Tickets? Prolific.
Tickets Why? To ensure the revolving door of Federal Money.
