Default Where to send DL, Social Sec and BirthCert

Apparently I need to send all this to the records dept? Color copies? They can't want the originals can they?
Has anyone had to do this recently? Is this routine before a parole hearing? I'm having a hard time getting thru to records 😞

I didn't send my son's. No copies of anything. The parole board and his counselor just need to know who has the originals. DO NOT SEND ANY PERSONAL INFO LIKE THAT THROUGH THE MAIL TO A PRISON! There are prisoners working in the mail room. You can call and talk to his counselor and let them know YOU have all of that and you aren't comfortable sending it through the mail, even copies.

How strange. He was called out to specifically to be sure he had them. He was told to have them sent to records. No one who recently had a LO paroled had to do this?

Apparently its some type of Michigan ID deal. They want the originals, but the Records Office seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. I asked my son to find out more info.
So everyones loved ones had no problems getting paroled on expired ID? I dont know if that makes any difference or not?

My husband doesn't even have a DL or an ID because it was lost. I asked my husband who asked a few people he knew were going home and they didn't need theirs.

We are Federal but I had to send all of that. I made copies to keep and sent originals. I mailed it addressed to my husband and it went directly to his counselor. When it gets closer to his release(Dec 18th!), I will have to send a copy of my DL, the registration for my vehicle, and a copy of my current insurance card. Since he is coming home to LA from Florida for home confinement, he is still property of BOP so they need proof that everything is in place.

I know in Florida a prison ID card is used to get Florida ID they used to be able to get all of your stuff SS card, Birth cert, and other such things. But since all the changes in laws since 9/11, I don't think staff can obtain anything like that. But the exception might be if you are not a US citizen.
