It should carry over; you shouldn't need to fill out a new one.

Sorry for the late reply. I stayed at the AmericInn in Sayre, it's 5 minutes away from North Fork. It was around $89 per night I believe. A little more expensive, but it's closer. It's clean and they provide a continental breakfast. If you have to take a cab, use this guy Red's service, it's only $5 a ride within Sayre.

Hi ladies! I just wanted to let all of you know that they are really strict on the dress code now. I was there yesterday and a few ladies had to change. No white, red, yellow, or green shirts. No large earrings. No wire in your bra. Your shirt can't be double layered. No tight fitting pants. Hope this helps you all on your visits so you don't get turned away. Thanks!

What do you mean the shirt can't be "double layered"?? If it means what I think it means, I'm gonna have to complain. I often wear two shirts because I'm Muslim and so I stay covered...I usually wear a long-sleeve t-shirt and a short sleeve shirt over top (because the short sleeve tends to be longer and covers my butt).

Hello HMF,

DEFINITELY call ahead. I remember many Muslim women having this same hassle in Cali.

I called Ms. King today to schedule my visit for next month (I scheduled for July 5, 6, 7, and 8...I don't know how I'm gonna afford it, but I will figure it out, hopefully). Here is what she told me about the new restrictions on what we can wear:

NO:
Red
White
Yellow
Green

NO:
Hoop earrings
Flip-flops of any kind
Shorts
Hats, wigs, bandannas
Gloves
V-neck shirts, or low-cut shirts
Spaghetti straps, tank tops, halter tops, strapless shirts
Skinny jeans, leggings, spandex pants
Layering clothes (and yes, I will be complaining about this, believe me)

YES, capris are permitted, as are skirts as long as they are not shorter than 2 inches below the knee.

Hope this has been helpful.

Starting the 19th of this month, everyone will be permitted FIVE consecutive visitation days (Thurs & Fri, 5pm-10pm; Sat & Sun, 9am-4pm; and Mon 5pm-10pm). I didn't schedule for the Mon visit because honestly, I don't even know how I'm gonna afford four days of visits (hotel costs add up).

that's so great!! thank you so much! we've been holding off scheduling our visits because it doesn't make that much sense to us to spend that much on plane fare for only 2 visiting days. 'better call mrs. king :-)

I went to visit m'love last weekend and was informed by the staff that visitation days will be changing again, as of Aug 1st. The new visitation schedule will be as follows:

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9am-4pm for all races.

I've worn a watch and rings to visit with no problems. I don't wear earrings, but I am pretty sure that post/stud earrings are fine. And, I know another woman wore a necklace before, so that should be okay as well.

Ok everyone I'm Tea12,

I'm visiting my husband on 12/1/12 and 12/2/12 this clothing thing really bugs. I found a bra with no underwire (shocking) at VS but now i'm stumped. What do they mean by no form fitting clothes. Most people dont wear clothes that fall off but wait then they say no baggy clothes. So how do i guage jeans that are too tight for their taste all of my pants are fitting not cutting off my circulation but they are my size. Can anyone help? Also do you have to take off your jacket when you go through the metal detector?

Thanks

They can fit, just not be skinny jeans. I have pictures from my visits (at NFCF) in my profile, and in some of them I'm wearing jeans...you are can go take a look to see what I mean.

Visits are not Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9am to 4:30pm.

HOWEVER, for Thanksgiving, they are also having visitation on that Thursday from 9am to 4:30pm.

Default Finally going to visit

Hi Ladies,

Welcome to all the new ladies and I hope that you find hope and answers through all the threads. Haven't been on PTO for a while. Many changes going on and I may finally be able to visit my love. Looking through the threads are very helpful. I'm not sure when the visit will be, but if someone can help and answering a couple of questions. Is staying in Elk City or in Texas is closer to the facility? Looking for a pretty clean, safe, and fairly cheap hotel.

And how is the weather? I will be driving with two others from California. Just not sure how the weather will be; snow, rain, hail, thunderstorms. All this is critical in considering whether I drive or not.

If someone can answer I would really appreciate it. Thank you ladies and I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Christmas is right around the corner and so is another year down. Thank God!!!

I'm excited about you being able to visit your guy, finally.

Staying in Elk City is much closer...as it's only about 15-20 minutes from the prison. One of the best hotels I've stayed at has been the Flamingo Inn. It's in Elk City, it's one of the cheaper hotels in the area, and is fairly clean.

As for the weather...it's always windy, currently it is rather cold, and will probably be snowing soon. I don't know how much or how often it snows...but I do know that it snows.

Hope this helps!

It's usually still cold here at the end of February.
