Does anyone in Ms. have a child/ relative who is on lockdown? I would just love to know how my son is but the prison hangs up on me when I call. All they say is it isn't public knowledge. I feel I'm not "public" , I'm FAMILY. Am I wrong?
Hon, unfortunately, that is prison life. There is very little you can do until you hear from your loved one via phone call or letter. If you're really worried about your loved one's well being, try calling for the prison chaplain and ask them to do a wellness check.

Welcome to Prison Talk. I hope you are able to talk to your family member soon. In most prison systems, lockdowns stop all communications except for letters, and they slow way down too.

If you are really concerned call the chaplain and ask for them to do a check. Anything else you have to wait for a letter. This happens during every lockdown so you have to learn to go through the motions and not drive yourself crazy until you either get a letter or the lockdown is over. This is just one more frustrating part of the life, the lack of information.

Thank each one of you for your advice concerning getting in touch with the chaplain for a wellness check for my son.
Also for encouragement in this situation. I know I'm not the only one going through nor has gone through this and I appreciate the great advice. Bless each one of you!
