Default Questions about my first visit tomorrow-Glossbrenner Prison Texas

My excitment is hard to keep under control. I will have my first contact visit with Kevin at Glossbrenner tomorrow. I have'nt been in his arms since our hug goodbye on Feb 22, it seems like a lifetime ago. I am nervous and happy. I am scared and overjoyed. The thought of feeling the comfort and safety of his arms again is awesome. Since this will be my first time there, I thought maybe I could get some pointers on making sure everything goes smoothly from getting there, to getting in to see him and I really have know clue what the quarters are for but I am bringing them. I just want to make sure there will be no problems so I wont be turned away.
Also if there is anyone who can guide me in the right direction with this problem it would be much appreciated.
Kevin had a misdemeanor charge in San Pat Co. that he was on probation for, the probation suppervision was transfered here to Nueces. It seems that when he was MTR'd here Nueces dropped suppervision back to San Pat therefore he basically is not reporting for probation in that county. When he got to Glossbrenner last week the charges were there. If i dont find out what to do about this he will be detained longer than just his time at Glossbrenner and the halfway house. Please help if you can.
Thank You
You are all a wonderful group of people that I am proud to be getting to know.

I've never visited that particular facility, but I'll give you some very general rules here......

1. dress conservatively - if you have doubts, don't wear it (bring a change of clothes - just in case!)
2. don't wear open-toed shoes - if you do take a spare pair along, you never know when the rules may change
3. the quarters are for the vending machines - you can take up to $20 in quarters
4. you can take nothing but that $20, car key, and ID in with you - nothing else

Like I said these are just general rules - someone hopefully will be along that visits or has visited at Glossbrenner and can give you some specifics.

Just relax and enjoy your time with him!!

Hi Kevins girl - I had my first visit with my son at Glossbrenner on Saturday, too. I was a nervous wreck about the dress code and just what to expect! I would've been in much worse shape had it not been for all the info I'd received from these great people.

I hope your experience at Glossbrenner was as positive as mine. I did take a spare set of clothes AND shoes. When I'd called the unit she told me that any open toed shoes must be worn with hose - so silly me is wearing knee highs with heeled sandals - they didn't seem to enforce that rule tho as others were in flip flops and other open toed with no hose. I had asked the first guard about the bra issue and he did say it's best not to wear the underwire - other than that - good common sense. Nothing revealing or exposing. I had on lined white capri's - nothing could be seen, however if they'd not been lined I couldn't have worn them.

I hope you had a wonderful visit with Kevin!
