Default Covid-19: Visitation & Precautions? Update All visits suspended

I've planned a trip to visit my LO, at Seagoville, next Monday. All I've seen, on the news today, is about the Coronavirus. Does anyone know what, if any, precautions the prisons might be taking in light of this health issue? I guess I'm wanting to know if anyone has experienced changes, to the visitation process, I might need to be aware of?
We haven't seen one another in almost 12 weeks. Usually make the trip every other month. Nothing is going to stop me from visiting...just want to be prepared!

Thanks for any insights!

I can only speak for my prison.

We are aware and are taking it day by day. Signs are posted in visitor areas. Visiting is not canceled but depending on if there are local out breaks in the community or in the prison..any thing can happen.

My advice is call ahead and ask, especially if someone in your party is exhibiting any sign of sickness. (Coughing, runny nose etc)

My son said today no visits for 30 days and suspended all transfers between prisons for 30 days as well,
He is in PA but I heard it from another person in Federal in Ohio.

Well, guess this answers it. System wide suspension of visitation for 30 days. This was dated today. Not being able to see him makes me sicker than the corona virus ever could.

Just read news that ALL visitation at Fed prisons is suspended for 30 days, as well as prisoner transfers.

“SOCIAL VISITS: Social visits will be suspended for 30 days, at which time the suspension will be reevaluated. To ensure inmates maintain social ties, the BOP will allow for additional inmate telephone communications. Inmates will be allowed 500 (vs. 300) telephone minutes per month.“

Full release on BOP website.

Here are a couple of messages I got from my friend over the past few days, they give a sense of what life is like for the inmates at the moment:
unfortunately they might lock us down. they said they put 2 guys down for caution. there are ppl that all of the sudden they think they are sick!! ever been around them ppls?? one guy tells me this morning, hey i think i am feeling sick, so i told him, ' what is he doing so close to me then"
they going to close a whole block{small one} for new ppls and letting ppl from the hole out even over crowded they still pack ppl in. if someone was to be infected here? all of us are done for all we can do is make the best of every situation. even in here they spread rumors
