He's ready to leave and to get a job and be an adult. About a year ago he told me "I'm not ready to be an adult yet..." but now his tune has changed a lot! I just hope it sticks. He has support of family and friends.... I want to introduce him to some "better" friends or at least ones that have his best interest at heart. He wants to be loyal to people who don't show him the same respect and that's what gets him into trouble. He's picked up some good habits like journaling and working out too which he plans to keep up. He actually likes doing it which is nice to hear.

He was in the process of getting his permit when he was locked up this time and requested that his personal property be sent to him parents but they ever received them. I really hope he doesn't have to go through getting all new cards again but only time will tell. 5 days and a wake up left!!!
Oh...and so he left the state without approval, huh? Yep....you don't really think too much about that until someone with those flashing lights on the top of the car pulls you over. Well, that's not that bad. If they only hit him with 97 day hopefully he won't have to go through too much drama to get back on track. Just gotta remember that "when on parole your life is not your own to do with as you so choose." For the most part it's not that way, but there's a procedure or process we have to adhere to other wise, we get tripped up. It's happened to me. Not for going out of state, but in other areas.

I just have to keep reminding him of that. In New York theres mandatory 5 years of Parole even if your sentence would technically be over before that so thats where we are right now. And as a person who spent basically all of his 20's in prison he just wants to experience things but he also has to realize that is he keeps doing whatever he wants he may spend his 30's in that place and become a lifer like a lot of the guys he's met there.

The ext few days until he gets out are going to be hard because we won't be able to communicate (his tablet has been turned off) and he doesn't get phone calls in his program. I can't wait to see him on Tuesday!!!!

Is it normal to be so anxious at this time? I'm lucky that my family is in town to visit otherwise I would spend so much time worrying and losing sleep over this. The weeks go by both fast and slow at the same time, same as the days. SO happy there are only a few days left. I just want this all to be over already!
