It really will be crazy when its THE DAY. It will at once be so fast, and take forever.
Continue with your patience. Breathe. You guys got this.

I'm so freaking ready. I just cant wait. We both are in much better moods lately, and she is working very hard now, but I know she has pep in her step. I cant imagine how hard the work is for her but she does describe it, I know it will be a huge relief for this all to end, and she can just sit back and relax for a while. I cant wait to give that to her. Just a good long chill time so she can relax. Its the #1 thing I want.

Thirty..........FOUR.

(how cool that they came out to deal with the fire. Hopefully she didnt hear about it cause that would worry me to hear)
Yeah, it was a red flag warning up here too. Already had a few fires with only one being truly a concern. Problem is, once the community smells smoke we tend to panic. Especially with high winds. PTSD I guess.
Anyway.........you guys are inching ever closer.......

Yeah she knew! They mentioned in the dispatch the street number and it is close to the street that I am on but it is on the other side of the aqueduct. Fires have jumped the aqueduct many times but that would have been against the wind so highly unlikely. But the next morning there was a 200 acre fire on the other side! So fire season is officially here, and were getting activity almost every day. I think its good for her to stay focused and pass the time faster! I think were gonna be hard timing it this last 30 days because its just so damn close!!! Every phone call is like us planning our day when she gets out. So far like 4 phone calls all we talk about is me picking her up hahahha

Yikes. that would have really scared me to hear about it. as an aside....my father used to be a cop. He was working one graveyard on dispatch.....he heard about a attempted breakin, robbery, prowler (not sure which) at our house......he was freaked out!

Yeah, gonna be a difficult fire season this yr, I think. It's barely june. Dont wanna think about sept/oct..........

and so true about keeping busy for her. It will fly by, trust me. Excited for you guys.

Reminds me of the saddest story I should not even tell but will tell.

My sister was 17yo, I'm 45 yo now. It happened in same month really, and something every year reminds me of the incident.

She was coming home from her boyfriends house at around 11pm, and drove off the side of the freeway and died. Lots of speculation she was ran off the road etc but its of no matter for me, she was dead.

Whats weird about it is she was late and my stepdad (fire captain) went out searching for her. He discovered the wreck.

Never been the same since. We used to have a "Norman Rockwell" family, and after that, we all went our separate ways.

Still see my parents here and there but its never been the same. I strive to keep it all together. it happened June 3 many years ago.

Yeah its weird how god works though. We don't "recover" but we learn new ways of digesting the same world around us. We evolve. Like having a arm chopped off or losing eyesight, you naturally become a different being that is adjusted and evolved. Were all scarred by something all the time. I would say that even existing another day proves you are evolving and adjusting, and to be cognizant of the fact of this happening, elevates you to another dimension of maturity. My sister did not die in vain, she lost her life and it was a bum shot, but I truly believe Gods purpose and I am convinced that this happens all for reasons to balance it all somehow.

Don't know all the ways I have grown from this event, but I do cherish all moments I can and look for the best in everyone around me. Did I before? Yeah I want to think so, but maybe I just slow down and become way more pragmatic now.

I sure don't want to suffer anymore loss, but I guess I am stronger in a way after that, maybe prepared me for what I have had to go through for years after....

Yeha it was a long time ago and God does what he does... I like to say "Tough shit happens to tough people". I want to think we can handle it and it was all for a reason. Everything comes full circle somewhere.

30 freaking days. And she was in a fire the other day, then safe, now I hear about another bigger fire and no call yesterday so I am going to definitely be hard timing it this last 30 days. She is literally fighting for freedom on the last mile. As the whole damn thing unfolded, this term has been nothing but more and more tough bridges to cross. We have to make it, there is no option other than to get her home.
