Default When Politics and Justice Collide- Free Event

Below is an invitation to an event on February 28 where James and Donna Hamm will make a presentation called WHEN POLITICS AND JUSTICE COLLIDE : How To Make The Criminal Justice System More Effective in Arizona. It is a free event and includes dinner (usually pizza and salad). You must register for the event. If enough people register, they will move the presentation to a larger venue/location. If enough people register, it will show some legislators (who often attend these events) how important the topic of criminal justice reform is in this state. You are not required to reveal anything about yourself when you RSVP except your name and/or email address.
This is an opportunity for a COMMUNITY FORUM to discuss the real world of prisons, our justice system in Arizona, and other topics of major concern to those of you who care about someone in prison, on community supervison, parole or probation.

When Politics and Justice Collide: How Do We Make Arizona's Criminal Justice system more effective?
Join the Arizona chapter of Generation Opportunity Institute for a discussion on Arizona's prison system and reforms that can be made.
Speakers will be James and Donna Hamm with Middle Ground Prison Reform. Donna Leone Hamm is the founder and Executive Director of Middle Ground Prison Reform, an all-volunteer non-profit organization, officially formed in 1983. James J. Hamm is a former life-term prisoner in the Arizona Department of Corrections. In 1974, James was sentenced to 25 years to Life in prison for a drug-related homicide. His sentence was later reduced (commuted) to 16.5 years to Life by then-Gov. Rose Mofford based upon his exemplary accomplishments and behavior. He was granted parole in 1992 and granted an absolute discharge from his sentence in 2001. The goal of Middle Ground is to protect and define the rights, responsibilities, and privileges of the incarcerated.
For any questions, please reach out to Field Director Chalon Hutson at chutson@genopp.org or (480) 215-4064.
