Smile Transportation and Rides GM Hub

Attention all New Yorkers!

Wed like to clean up and update the transportation information in this forum the current one is a hodge-podge of information, complaints and questions, and not easily usable.

In this thread, could you please list the transportation vendors you use and any you have previously used, with contact info and what areas they serve. (Any other suggestions are welcome, too)

Many thanks
Nim

Greyhound can go basically from any city- I personally had looked into for Mt McGregor from near Syracuse- would of been dropped of in Saratoga Springs and have to catch a cab.
From where i live to Coxsackie/Greene it would be crazy to take it the layovers are outrageous!
but basically of you call and do the automated ordeal with "Gracie" thats what they call the machine lol you can see if they have one in your town or near it as well as where you are going

Albany told me if you call the chaplain at the facility your loved one is in you can check into a free bus- you may have to fill out paperwork or you may be able to just go to the stop. It all depends on the facility.

Hello,
From Rochester, there is a van service called Uniting The Love. 585-303-2277. Very reasonable and professional. New, and looking to grow.

Default Ride to Great Meadow Hub

Hi,
sorry for the late response. Crazy month!! Saw my dude in Cali who is in the feds, cousin got put into upstate, my birthday, etc. Yes they are looking for more people. Jeff (the driver) said that they had one other lady from Rochester in that hub, but her husband was released in March. I will keep you posted if there are any changes.
take care

Hey,
You are right about the life part. Have to see where this clown is going after Upstate. His case goes up for appeal in May, and he could not even "act" much less be good.
I understand the driving part. It does get tiresome, but I enjoy it for the most part. When I have the right crowd. If I don't I just place my headphones on my head, and turn on my ipod.
take care

there arent many options on the weekday. you can take the amtrak to hudson and then a cb to the facility but thats pricey bec the train is approx $88 r/t and the cab is $50.

the van bus services operate on the weekend.
