Default Any others at AVFC??

Hello all!

Hopefully everyone is hanging in there and staying strong for their loved ones locked down. Times are rough but we will get through this.

I've been on here for quite some time now and I've been wondering if there are any other PTO members out there that have loved ones locked up at AVCF. That's where my babys at and it would be nice to know if anyone else has a loved one there, as well!

Take care and thanks for the input in advance!

Wow, I can only imagine how hard that could be. I give you props for holding it down for him, though.

Will he be in there for awhile or is the homecoming real close? (If you don't mind me asking, lol.)

He's not eligible for parole for another 6 years. Ask away, I don't mind answering any questions you may have.

Do you visit often?

Oh, boy. 6 years is a long time.

I used to visit every week or so for awhile but recently stopped due to money issues. But I'll be going up this Sunday so I'm pretty excited. How about yourself? Do you get to visit often?

I go up about once a month - it's about a 5 hour drive for me. I was up last weekend for all 3 days and I'm going up again next Saturday.

Hes one lucky guy to have someone visit for all three days.

The drive is 3 and a half hours for me, depending on if I'm a speed racer or not lol. Where are you coming from?

I come from Albuquerque, NM. I LOVE the drive in the spring, summer and fall. Not so much in the winter.

I sure wish the visiting hours were longer. It always goes by so fast!

What unit is your husband in?

I'm guessing you take I-25 all the way up? It is a gorgeous drive, especially when there's a lot of color and sunshine.

I believe he's in unit 4? Lol I'm actually not to sure.

Yup, I25 all the way to Trinidad then 350 to 71. That's the worst part of the drive! Nothing much to see.

I know that road too! When I go up to Denver (my inlaws live there), I go that way instead of I25. Especially on Fridays! Traffic is crazy.

Yes, we talk everyday - sometimes 2 or 3 times a day! I jpay him about 4 times a week and he writes about 3 times a week. Crazy huh? lol

Jpay is easy. Go to JPAY.com and set up an account (they have a mobil app too). You have to purchase "stamps" I think it's $2.50 for 7 letters or something. You can also attach pictures which I do often. If I were to send him one now (which I just might doi ) he will either get it today or tomorrow (depending on the lazy a%& mailroom ladies).

How was your visit? It was crazy last weekend, the CO's and IG pulled out 3 different couples and ended their visits.

Oh, okay I'm gonna have to check it out. Do you have to pay to set it up and pay for the stamps as well? I notice a lot of people use Jpay.

It was amazing! Its been three months, I was flushed with emotion I started crying cause I was excited to see him. I felt so embarrassed lol. But it was good. There were a lot of people there compared to a lot of other times I've been up there.

No, it doesn't cost to set up an account, just to buy stamps. You can also send him money from there - but there is a small fee.

Glad you had a good visit. I'm going up on Saturday with my daughter. I had planned on staying the whole weekend, but something came up so I'll only be able to visit one day. Better than nothing though.

Hmm, I wonder how much the fee is. I usually send money through western union and the fee is $8.98 or $9.98 to send over $50. I'll definetly have to look into it now.

Thank you! I bet he's excited to see you both. Those guys are more than happy if they can get at least one visit. (At least my hubby is, lol.) Hope yous have a lovely visit.

Do you and your husband have any children together?
