No weapons period or weapons need to be locked in a safe?
Or do you think it just depends on the officer?

When my man was on Intense Probation I was told they need to be locked in a safe with no access to him but I'm curious if it is different for parole?

I got a while to go but curious for the future so I can figure that part of life out sooner than later and be in for a surprise.

No weapons in the home at all. Guns, bows, bb gun, or whatever.

Default 90 days to go

Today, it suddenly feels unreal. Maybe it's the even number; maybe it's actually knowing it's a number below 100. Before I was counting months or weeks. Maybe it's all those year working in the law where 60 and 90 days were common deadlines for so many things in AZ law - I honestly don't know. It's like I can't believe it is so close to happening.

Just got back from a reunion with my sisters. My last big splurge for a while. Two weeks in Florida. I need to do my taxes. I need to get the safe installed for my medications. I need to buy groceries. I need to contact my doctor who was arranging some tests for my knee, my eye exam time is due, the specialist wants another nerve test; I need to pick up my prescriptions for this month.

Because I woke up this morning and in 60 days I will be headed out to pick him up the next morning, I suddenly feel overwhelmed, like I have so much to do and so little time. In reality, except for the safe and the federal tax deadline, it's all normal every day stuff. I am sure the contrast between being on vacation and being home adds to the OMG I have so much to do feeling. Along with the post vacation unpacking, laundry, 2 weeks of mail, pay the bills, put money on his books. This will be the last time I put money on his books and order him hygiene products in a securepak.

Obviously, my mind is jumping all around - the getting home from vacation and the OMG only 60 days left combo. Good thing I didn't drink any coffee today. My first step should probably be a bubble bath to calm down.

My hubby finally got approved with a FI-2. He will be home July so it's finally official Hooray! I'm a little numb all over. I've been trying not to get too excited because we have a few months left and I read there is all kinda of steps in between. When we found out we we're just happy to be at the 99 day mark which also happened to be our visit this weekend. The perfect day if I say so . In the beginning, I never imagined that I would make it through this. Im so much more bitter than I use to be which really sucks, but have learned to take care of myself and accept the things I cannot change. If it wasn't for this forum and knowing that I'm not alone in all this I don't know where my mind would be (wipes tear). I want to say thank you so much to everyone sharing your stories and support. It has meant everything. So now it's time to get ready and take that next step into our second new normal " Parole". Don't get me wrong I'm am definitely super stoked. I kept singing "99 problems but a b**tch ain't one" to him the whole visit lol. But if one thing I have learned is Patience. I'll save the booty dance for when I see that release date on the website

Wow that is right around the corner! I guess with everything the best phrase would be cautiously optimistic. I hear you on the not wanting to get too excited yet. It is all surreal

52 days and then sleep (maybe) and go pick him up.

I asked him this weekend what did he want to do first. For many years, it was go to Burger King. Now, it's get some nice clothes, come home, and see his sister.

Unsure. My daughter, his sister, is a teacher in WI. She was planning on being here and throwing a welcome home party for a few friends and family (a dozen people), but the snow days extended the school year and the school made some rules about teachers better be there and holding paychecks over their heads. I don't think it will mean any less to him if it happens a few weeks later.

I asked him what he wanted to do first when he got out. (His answer used to be Burger King.) His current response is that he just wants to see me and his sister and home. Then, go shopping for some clothes and basics. Aside from Mom getting him something to wear home, he doesn't want Mom dressing him at age 29.

I packed up all his stuff because we needed the room for my daughter and grandbaby to use when they visited. Had to make it safe for baby/toddler (she was born 3 years after his arrest and will be 4 this year.) But, his clothes won't fit him anyway. He was a 165 lb. 22 year old when he went in and is now over 200 lbs. and almost 30. Once he gave up drugs, he built up a lot of muscle, along with the basic fact that the body changes between 20 and 30.

He will have so much to figure out, like getting a drivers license, financial aid and college (his biggest dream), a job, transportation, parole requirements. I have to figure out how to live with a man vs. the boy that left here. The one thing I am sure of that won't have changed is Mom can cook food and he will happily eat it.

5 weeks and 1 day to go.

2 holidays to go - Easter and Mother's Day.

His first weekend home includes Memorial Day followed by his sister's birthday that week.

Guess I should defrost the freezer and start stocking up on food.

Hey lizlizzie2.....you don't have a countdown thread Gee willikers! If you have a minute, and you'd like to countdown your son's release in its own thread, I'll be more than happy to help you count down those days until your son is released

EDIT: Anyone that is one year or less from their loved one's release is more than welcome to start their own countdown thread!!
