Post Intro--closmom from Virginia

My son has been in prison since May 2012. He got a 40 year sentence which was reduced to 6 thank God. These past five plus years have been horrible. Remembering the happy go lucky kid he was then the teen years drinking and some pot. It wasn't until he got married he went downhill. Then his wife left him with 2 children, stole his truck and he eventually ended up living with me and his stepfather in our workshop. His drinking and addiction to porn were his downfall and landed him in jail. The only good to come out of his incarceration is his recommitment to the Lord. He has been a strong Christian these last 4 years. Now he is dealing with anxiety which he suffered from before this. He is getting released August 2018 but the prison reentry people don't have a clue what they're doing. Him and I are trying to faithfully trust Gods plan. He will have a lifetime of dealing with parole officers because of his crime. We are both praying for him a Godly wife. I can't hardly stand that he will be alone when he gets out. His father and brother have turned their backs on him and it breaks my heart to think he will walk without support of family tho my hubby has said he will keep in touch with him. I have end stage COPD and doubt I'll last til Christmas unless the Lord intervenes. I'm rambling. Bottom line is I am looking into the future for him and it saddens and scares me. I need to take it one day at a time. Thanks for listening.

Welcome to Prison Talk. I'm sorry about your health problems, but glad that your Son will be released shortly after getting 34 years deducted from his sentence..
