Default Trouble Sending Money

My fiance just got transferred to federal. I tried sending him some money today and Western Union I guess didn't like my debit card, so I tried Moneygram and it said his ID number was invalid. I put it in like 5 times and I know I typed it correctly. I'm going to call the prison in the morning, but I have no idea how helpful they're going to be so I thought I would just ask here if anyone had similar issues initially.

Try sending money online with Western Union.. It's simpler than in the store, in my opinion.

I agree WesternUnion online is the best, you may also call Western Union and do it over the phone with your card

You can always mail a US Postal money order to the lockbox in Des Moines, Iowa.

Ask him to confirm his inmate ID number too. Having payments rejected by WU can happen for issues like the way you enter things like the payee (bop) and I also finally decided that the phase of the moon might matter, LOL.

Can he still call if there's no money on his account? I was going to head to the post office today and send a money order, but I'm hesitant if the number really isn't correct

He can call you collect, but your phone must be able to accept collect calls. You can find out from your phone company.

I did. And I tried seriously for like an hour last night. So I was telling my girlfriend about it this morning and she asked if she could try, so I walked her through how to do it and it worked! She did the exact same thing I was doing with the same numbers and she was able to get it. So I sent her the money back over paypal, but I really have no idea what I was doing wrong
