Oklahoma Carpool/Ride Share Thread

If you are trying to find a ride or if you have an empty seat and want company and/or help with costs, post in this thread.



Please include the following information -


· Whether you have a vehicle or need a lift - If you need a lift, are you able to share the driving? (If you let someone else drive your car, there's nothing at all rude about asking to SEE their driver's license. If you'll be driving someone else's car, it's sensible to ask to see the insurance card.)


· What area you're coming from (preferably at least the County)


· When you usually leave and how long you generally stay - For example, if you drive all night and go directly to the prison or if you arrive Friday night and get a room.


· Do you travel with children?


· Are you a smoker or is it really important to you that your carpool pal NOT smoke?


Most other details should be exchanged via private message.







Here's an example:


Ride needed from Orange County.


Licensed driver.


Can share gas costs, and maybe a room?


Prefer to go on Friday and stay until after Sunday visiting.


Or


I drive from LA County 2 times a month.

Would like to share the driving and gas costs.
Sorry, I can't accommodate children.
I smoke and play the stereo loud.
Usually leave after lunch on Friday and head back right after Sunday Visits.

My man just got put into William S Key and I live in Tulsa and don't have a car. I was wondering if anyone who visits there would be willing to take me with you and back when we get the visitation approval and when I can afford to pay you gas money. I just want to be able to see my love. He was in county for two years after sentencing because he had somehow slipped through the cracks before going to LARC for two weeks and then Key and so its been a long time since I could hold him. I miss him so much and would really appreciate any help.

Visits are on Saturday for my LO’s unit.
I do smoke, but have no problems not smoking in others’ vehicles. J
I do have children (twin 8 month olds). I would prefer to take them one at a time, but if you do not prefer children I have NO problem with that. J

I know that members in the NFCF forum sometimes like to share the cost of the travel for a visit to OK to see our loved ones. I know I have visited with Faraway Love once before, and I will be visiting with nateeslamislady this month. It really helps a lot when you can travel with another PTOer; it really saves on the cost of the trip.

This thread is for those interested in visiting and wanting to go with someone else to share the cost.

Feel free to post dates you're trying to go; what mode of transportation (i.e. if you want to carpool); etc.
