Happy new year! I went to trial and fought like a hell cat but ultimately lost. Tough to win @ an unfair game. Anyways... I go to sentencing in March and will probably be self surrendering in May. My max is 5 years and I’m preparing for just that because I’d rather do that then cooperate with the feds. (No judgement, personal decision).
Anyways, I want to request alderson because of the proximity to home, as well as the “natural” environment (from what I hear) and the RDAP program. Question... anyone that’s been there recently... is it overcrowded? That’s my only real fear. And the noise... we live in the country. But I can adjust to the noise. Just don’t want to be in a terribly overcrowded environment if I can look elsewhere before the big date. THANK YOU! Open to any and all advice...
Liz

You wrote this awhile ago. I've visited Alderson a number of times. It's the place I would choose on the east coast along with Mariana as another possibility. Alderson is country for sure and lovely mountain views. Places change as wardens change, but Alderson has always had a decent reputation. Judicial recommendation is important, granted about 75% of the time. Lexington is the place to avoid, for sure.
