Smile Parole Process

Hello All,
Does anyone have any correct info on how this process works? If a inmate has a release date does he still go before parole board for a hearing???? Or does he just get released because he has served all this time.

Thanks,
Sharon

My husband is getting released this weekend ... I have no idea the process, when I have to be there and what I need to bring. Does anyone know? He doesn't even have his terms yet ... lagging, makes me so frustrated since I am a big planner.

Hey ladies! Not sure if anyone will be able to answer any questions I have but I'm gonna ask anyway!
My friend will be out in 26 days and I'm not completely sure of the procedure. Of course I know I have to be there early and check in but after that I know nothing.
What do I need to present to the CO's when I go to the shack; just a drivers license and registration? How long does it usually take them to be released? He's on T yard. Is there anything I need to do before he gets out? He's not doing dress outs.

Thank you
Arielle

I will so that everyone will have some information. I'm honestly not excited at all. We aren't really on good terms but I still want to be there to pick him up. I wish I was excited. Down to 23 1/2 days... We'll see how these next few weeks go!

It may have changed since 09, but I drove to the prison early, about 630am, parked in the last row, designated for release. Then I just waited. A white van eventually pulled out and stopped at the gate. He had to point out my car. It was about 8am, I believe. He got out and walked to me. I never checked in with anyone. No one came to my car to speak to me. I didn't show ID or registration. This was also from T yard. Good luck to you!

(I have experience with one other prison and it was basically the same procedure.)

Not sure about the dress outs but I arrived just after 6:45 AM and went to the main visiting check in. All you need is your license and make/model/license plate # for your car and they tell you to be back by 7:50 if you leave. You are not allowed to use your cell phone on prison grounds. They come out between 8-8:30. I assume the less amount of releases the sooner they are released. You park in the last row and they get dropped off right in front of your vehicle.

Does anyone know when we send him his dress out clothes? And does he have to send you anything to attach to the box with his dress outs in it? Please let me know my husband will. Getting out in less than 5 months and I just won't to be prepared and not forget anything!

I believe it's no sooner than 45 days and no less than 30 but I could be wrong. I'd call R&R and ask them... I know some prisons have a paper and others don't.

For the out of state parole we sent it in 5 months before his release. I'd call his counselor and ask.
