Exclamation Realese pick up ...plz help ?

need help asap....my husband gets out this monday 4/18/2016 but i told him this week i couldn't pick him up on his release date cause my car was getting fixed , so he told the officer he has to take the greyhound instead. But now i got a rental and told him today which is 4/16/2016 that i can pick him up. He told me the officer that takes care of the release date isnt there on the weekends . so my question is can i go 2 hours early to let the officer at the gate know that im picking him up my husband with them not being notified last minute?? And i called the 800 number but no one is picking up.

have no idea about California practices on release...perhaps someone from that State will be able to answer since it is only about 5AM out there right now.

I don't know about CA prisons either, but federal prisons require a released prisoner to travel exactly as written in their furlough instructions. If it says Bus, then that's how he would be expected to travel. You probably won't know if he will be allowed to ride with you in the car until you are at the prison.

You may already on the road, so I hope it doesn't turn out to be a wasted trip.

Hello and Welcome to PTO! I moved your thread over to the California Parole, Probation and Release Forum because the members in California will be more knowledgeable about what you need to do in this case. By this time, you are probably on your way to pick him up. Best of luck to you both!

I think that you may be able to pick him up if you arrive early enough.
If I remember, they told my hub that if no one was there to pick him up, they would put him on the bus.
(like say you were late to pick them up, or got into an accident or something last min)

Hope you get there with plenty of time, and can bring him home!
