Does anyone know if someone has a level IV in michigan, do they usually get sent to Ojibawa (sp?) in the Upper Peninsula?

he is a level IV and got Life. Anybody think there is any hope that he will stay on the lower peninsula?

There are level IV prisons throughout the state. They usually send the troublemakers to the UP. He can work his level down...as long as he stays out of trouble. MDOC sends them wherever they have a bed open. He could go anywhere in the state. My son has typically been 2-4 hours away (they keep moving him for some weird reason...he's not a troublemaker). He also doens't have long on his sentence. He started as a Level II and then went to Level I but needed a class so they sent him back to a Level II prison and changed his classification. Just because your LO might get to one place, that doesn't mean they won't move him around. Where he goes first might not be where he stays.
