Religion- What is your faith or tradition?
Hi,
I consider myself Agnostic, and I am active in an Atheist, Agnostic, and Freethinker student group at a local university. I love to talk about religion and philosophy, and from time to time, I enjoy a good, clean debate. From what I've read, I realize most PTO users are Christians, but I am just wondering who else is out there... especially if there are any freethinkers like myself!

I was raised Protestant, but never really attended church much, but since meeting my man I have come around to his way of thinking, he believes in Monotheism.

Well, according to my mother (lol) I've been to just about every kind of church!!!!!!!! Unfortunately I don't have much memory of anything but vacation bible school.
But now, I am Christian, Assembly of God (pentecostal), we are considered ultra conservative.
But kind of like murmurkibbies I like to read the good debates. I don't consider myself one to to be an authority on anything, just lots of my personal beliefs, opinions, what have you.
I like to learn about everything.

What is the difference between a solitary practicing witch and the other ones? I've never met a witch before, and I'm very happy to meet one!

I never came across a Witch before either. Wow - I used to have a friend in the 80's that practiced white magic--- thought she was different --- we lost contact - (military spouses) Since I am non-Christian - we shared many of our opinions and ways- Plus we had many fun times together.
Glad you are here.....

You may know of other witches but we tend to keep quiet about our faith for several reasons - 1) the fact that so many view it Witchcraft as something evil or sinister makes it difficult at best to even begin a conversation and 2) we don't - or at least I don't - feel the need to advertise it. I don't have bumper stickers that say "What Would ______ Do?" or have a triquetra, pentacle or other pagan pendants hanging from my neck or my rear view mirror. Nor do I have the desire to "convert" others to my way of thinking. Most of us don't. Most of us believe that everyone is entitled to their own faith. What we all believe, however is that you can do what you will (practice your own faith, dance nude under the moon , etc.) as long as you harm no one while you do your will.
Thanks for the interest

I believe everybody has a right to their own beliefs and ideas. Whatever brings then peace and comfort. As for me I believe and serve the Almighty God. I believe that there is no one or nothing before him. God is the Alpha and Omega, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is my Master, my heavenly Father, my Lord. I believe that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. I believe in the power of prayer. I also believe that we all can get along no matter what one belives to be truth.

I guess if someone absolutely has to label me, I'd go with Atheist/Freethinker... but I enjoy educating myself on all religions, and I have friends from all spectrums of religion (and non-religion).

Wow for the first time in a long time I feel a bit out of place. I am a Christian and attend a non-denominational church. Simply put, I read and believe in the bible and while I am hardly perfect, I try to live my life by God's word.
I am very open person and love meeting others that have other beliefs. I work with a gal that is Buddhist, whose mother is Pagan and the rest of the family is Jehovah Witness, so it makes for very interesting discussions with her
I am glad so many people are willing to share their personal beliefs here. I've learned that it doesn't really matter the religion here, because I've met and read posts from people here that I've learned from and gained insight from who don't share the same beliefs as me and I think that is AWESOME!

I am a Deist, believing that God is to be perceived most clearly through His works (see the writings of Spinoza or many of the founders of the U.S.). With some effort I could most likely be a Unitarian.
That said, my personal beliefs draw from many faiths and I hold a deep and abiding respect for all. God has many faces--it is certainly not for me to dictate which one He may reveal to you.

I should be very clear that I respect and admire those who find God however they may do so. For many that is in the teachings of the Bible, which I refer to often and respect for its wisdom.
To you whose spiritual seeking has brought you happiness, my congratulations--may the seed our Creator has planted in you only continue to grow. Remember always that to grow a seed must be watered and nurtured. And that a relationship with God is a lifetime commitment, never to be taken for granted or set to one side.

i am Christian, and while i seem to becoming non-denominational as the time goes on, i was raised Baptist and converted to Pentecostal (which is actually more my style). however, through it all, i am Christian, simply a Bible, prayer, chuch going and believing Christian that has a great relationship with God, that is prayerfully improving daily
crow, i really liked your response, thanks
