How long does it take ISP to respond (Husband applied the first week of October)?
Hello All!
I have a question; my husband applied for ISP the first week of October and has yet to hear from them. He violated parole a few months before being finished and caught a fed charge and did his FED bid and NJ picked him up when he was released from the Feds for the PV and the Parole Board gave him a 14 month hit, but suggested that he apply for ISP due to the fact that I am battling a chronic illness and I called ISP and explained his situation and was told he was eligible and he sent the paperwork in and they have yet to respond. I thought the response time was 6-8 weeks.
Is it a good thing that they have yet to respond?????
I dont have much experience with this but I know there is people still waiting also I know with the holiday and all they are backed up on everything because they also have been working on the earlier release program because my hubby is still waiting to see pre parole and my friend is waiting to see if her hubby gets a court hearing for ISP and they came to see him the end of Oct the begining of Nov. So they are falling behind. But good luck and keep us posted

That's a possibility due to the holidays and the early release thing too! He was told he's not eligible for the early release due to violating parole. I just hope we hear something soon!
Its takes about 90 days to complete the process from submitting the application to getting an answer. Call Trenton or the regional office and ask about the status of his application.
Good Luck.

We r waiting to hear from ISP also. I called them earlier this month. They said they received his application December 2nd. So after the new year I will be calling to head the status. Just gotta stay on top of them. I know I will.

Thanks to all who responded and I hope we all get a favorable response from ISP, I will give them a call tomorrow to check on the status of his application.
Keep calling them!!! Stay on top of them, plus it shows that someone out there actually cares! If he applied the first week in October they should have come to see him for the 1st visit by now, I would definatly call them & see what's going on. Good luck!
Ugh I don't know exactly what questions to ask them. I called today and they just told me it takes 3 months. And that was it. I wanted to find out more but I didn't know the right questions to ask. This is frustrating!!!
Well, I called Trenton on Tuesday and they said that the application was filled out wrong; he left 2 parts out and I went off on him about it, but he didn't have the information and the social worker/case manager or whomever where he is wouldn't respond or provide the info and I am like pissed because almost 90 days have already gone by and he should have told me that he left info out, but I was able to locate exactly what he needed from his legal box here at home; so when I called her back, she said he still has to sign the application, so I filled it out myself and printed it and sent it to him and he will sign it and send it back so I can make a copy and I will mail it to them myself. I know it will add a few extra days to the process, but I want a copy of it and the lady said that since he has an ISP number already, they should be able to process it within 30 days once he resubmits the application with the info they need. At least they were nice about the whole thing, but I will be on pins and needles for the next month or so, until we hear something. I hope for the best for all of us through this process!
We applied sep 22, someone went to the jail early October. October 25, ISP did home visit. January 8 screening panel visited him at BSP. January 22, received Feb. 26 Court date. That has been the process so far. I pray we make it through the Court appointment. Good luck to you.

My husband has been home for 2 months now on ISP. The process seems daunting, but it's really not. But I will tell you that we were told the application would be processed in 30 days. It took more like 90, but once it was processed we had a court date quickly. Good luck to everyone!
And remember that it will suck for a little while. It is hard and a pain in the ass most times, but its better than having them in jail.

Well, the application went back to them on Monday, so now we wait! Congratulations and I also hope this over for all of us very soon too!
