Washington DOC election - 1/3rd time release?

Has anyone heard about the 2019 elections for DOC inmates (having their time cut in half if they've already done over a third of their sentence??

It's from a few years ago, but often "old" information is still the valid information, and sometimes it gets muddled into weird rumor-like "information" that is not correct.

No new legislation has passed reducing prison sentences. Legislation has barely failed adding community custody to all prisons sentences though.

I know this is a older post however I do think you guys are referring to something called DOC BUDGET REDUCTION?? My fiance's attorney was telling us about it on the 9th of this month when he was being sentenced �� I do remember the attorney letting us know that it would not be in full effect until april of 2021 though.

According to a Seattle Times article from September, 2020:

The DOC proposals, still in the early stages, may depend on changing budget realities and must find support from Gov. Jay Inslee and legislators before becoming real bills. They come as other big efforts are underway, such as the work of a Criminal Sentencing Task Force that co-chair Roger Goodman, a Democratic state representative from Kirkland, describes as a “top-to-bottom” review of the system.
