Default County Jail vs Prison time calculations

My son is currently in County Jail but was sentenced last January to prison. Due to the Coronavirus (Covid19) he was never transferred to prison and remains in County. He is a low level offender and is currently a Trustee. Once he is technically a State prisoner, shouldn't his time be calculated at 50%? (as of January 2020). It is currently 30% in County. Also does his "out on bail enhancement drop off?" There are several others in County in the dame predicament and no one at our County seems to know the answer to ANYTHING. Can you help?

It sounds like something that one or more of the guys lawyers should be involved with investigating. The ACLU is also active in reversing overreach by the sheriff and/or the prison system.

Yes, they will calculate the time based off of the prison benefit. Not ALL state prisoners get 50%, there are many variables such as strikes as charges. I am not sure about the enhancement. If he was sentenced to committing a crime while out on bail, then it would stay.
