I don't know about MCF but after the 1st of the year that's all Plainfield will have. By that time my son will only have 3 months if he doesn't get another time cut, and they have him in their equivalent of a nursing home for medical so I'm concerned about what they will do with him. Can only wait and wonder.
Yes it is being used as a SO facility, along with part of Plainfield.

Hey leagaleagle,
I have directed a few questions to you some in PM.
My son will be in RDC in a few days..Will probably be going to Miami or Plainfield. Any views on which is probably the
"better" one to serve time in. We live in Plainfield, and he has requested that. He has been out on bond for a year, but will taken into custody at the final hearing next week.
Signed a plea for a Class B.. 20 yrs executed, 10yrs served with time cuts.. Judge even stated at last hearing that sentence was harsh for a first time non violent offender.
I would appreciate your thoughts. God Bless... Rebecca
Rebecca, either one will be pretty strict. He won't really get a choice, but if he gets Plainfield that will be good because it means he got sentenced to less time.
MCF two years ago had a large number of SO's transfered in however they do still house other offenders. I do not know the full details but my guy is still there & he is not a SO. When I inquired on him being transfered when several others was being moved they told in the future the plan is to have MCF just a SO Facility. They are pretty cool about answering general questions if you call.
How strange.....I just visited at MCF last week, and my boyfriend told me they moved all of the SO's to New Castle, and they wouldn't be at MCF anymore. My boyfriend is not a SO either. I do know of someone who has a brother that was still in Plainfiled a few months ago, and her brother has been in as a SO for a couple years. All I know is when I visit I get a yellow pass, and someone told me that side was for the non violent, short stay guys, and the other side gets orange passes. I can't say to be 100% sure, but I thought he said there was two different sections of housing units, and the two are not mixed at any time.

WE WILL BE HUGGIN AND KISSIN AGAIN
Ted is at Branchville; but I have a friend who is at MCF. There are two sides, one side is level 1 security, short term offenders. The other is level 3 security behind the fence. My friend isnt a SO and he hasnt said anything about the facility changing over. (He's on the level 3 side.)

Yea like I said I don't the details on it but my guys has been there since he left rdc 5+ yrs. when they starting moving people out he was in college. So I called. I know that his dorm/unit is not SO. I'm not too sure about the reason behind the passes but before the big move there was no passes. I was under the impression that level 1 was on the other side of the camp. Things are always changing its hard to keep up.
