Hi,
hopefully I am in the right forum. I have a question on Pacer. I created an account thinking I will get to see some information on my relative and I can query by his name. I do get a result but other than one record with his Case #, Party Name, Court, and date filed, I do not see much information. Supposedly with this system I am supposed to see more information. I do not see any appeals filed, motions, nothing. If I hyperlink into the case #, I can see the world of attorneys involved for both sides, etc. I thought I was supposed to see all documents filed. Am I using this wrong or are my expectations too high?
Usually you can see most everything. the exceptions are when records are sealed for some reason or other. Sealed records happen when a person is a juvenile, it's a terror case, or there's some other reason why it's considered a sensitive case.

PACER for Federal Courts has different levels. I know that an Attorney can see more detailed information on PACER because they pay for a subscription and have that "Attorney" access but for regular folk like you and me we're limited on things and can't see everything filed with the Court. Good luck!
His case was a federal case... wild thought but is there any other place where information can be seen? i.e. I am trying to see if he will be sentenced soon. He's been through court already and waiting sentencing.
You can call the clerk of the US District court where he will be sentenced and ask them about any scheduled hearings. It will help if you have the case number when you call. Good luck.
