How many have ties to an FCI Medium?

My son was just sent to Florence FCI Medium. If anyone has a LO there or knows info, please PM me. I am very curious to learn more about this prison. There is the SUPERMAX next door the MAX Security, then a HIGH, and then a CAMP. I am interested in hearing about the complex, but mainly about the MEDIUM FCI where my son was sent. 1 Week no word, they are in quarantine for the virus. No phone call yet.

Anything is possible in bop prison designations regardless of your actual custody score. If you are assigned either a "public safety factor" or a "management variable", they can put you pretty much anywhere in the system, but FCI medium, or maybe even Low, are both possible even if you are sentenced to 200 plus months.

I don't know if this is where i should this but i have to start somewhere.
So i have a friend who is currently at Terre Haute. He is a gang drop out. He has been in the hole for 13 months. They are telling him they are sending him to California in a active prison. He is from California and did time in state prison there on a gang drop out yard. Is there anything we can do to stop this transfer?

Heyoo everyone.. my LO is at Victorville Medium II but I live in Oregon. We MWI and this whole thing is very new to me.. It'd be nice to have someone to talk to about it all. I know visits are off the table for a while but if anyone has any first hand experience with this facility it'd be nice to plan well before I do end up going. Much love to anyone reading this.
