My dad and fiance are both in Jesup FCI, I had an uncle in Marriana FCI and I have an uncle in Butner FCI who has also been in Coleman FCI.

My babe's been in the FCI: Marion for a week come Tuesday.

Has anyone gotten mail/contact/etc from their people within two weeks of their incarceration?

My LO contacted me one day after getting to the OK Transfer Facility by phone then a day or two after he got to his new facility by phone.

His letters take about four days to get to me. He had to get his commissary day before he could write.

Each facility handles newcomers differently from what I understand so maybe he just can't call or write yet. Just make sure he has money on his books so he can call when he is able to.

Just wanted to add this---- The United States Penitentiary (USP) in Lompoc, California, houses medium security male inmates and should be considered an FCI Medium.

my brother is getting ready for a custody drop and we are trying to do some research on mediums.....I would really appreciate some input / feedback??? he has a "wish list" so to speak ? college classes or appreticeship programs available, unicore, corrlinks, sorry to say but low amount of sex offenders please (his request), preferrably east of the Mississippi for visitation reasons ? hopefully not a medical or mental facility just a straight up medium ? Any and all input and feedback is welcome !
