My man is being transferred to the camp at Sheridan in 2 weeks and we need as much info about the place as possible. I appreciate anyone's input, thanks!!!
It's a pretty mellow place. They have an RDAP program. It's in the middle of pretty farmland. They grow crops and a lot of the inmates work in the fields. It starts raining (drizzling mostly) in late October and can be damp and foggy a lot, with spells of clear days, up until mid-June. Summers and fall are gorgeous. They have weights in an outdoor area with a roof overhead. A track to walk on. Baseball, handball. Nearest bigger city is Salem, which is the capitol and second largest city in Oregon. Closest motels are in Dallas and McMinnville, though there is a bed and breakfast right in the tiny town of Sheridan. Nearest big airport is Portland. The camp is about a 90 minute drive from there. There's a wildlife refuge nearby and a pond, so lots of birds to watch. There's a Detention Center and FCI next door. Some of the campers work at the FCI, like cleaning up the visiting room after visits. Hope this helps. Zelda
That helps a lot Zelda, thanks so much!! it sounds really nice with the weather & surroundings & all compared to where he is now at Taft which basically in the middle of a desert with nothing but dust around. Thanks again, I appreciate it!
