Default Seriously considering talking to the PO about maxing out my probation...

Well, as many of you know, I am going through a rough time with finding employment and such. I have read that if I go "max out" my probation in either jail or prison, I will then be clear... or, if I go to prison, I may qualify for parole, which I *hear* is easier than probation. I don't know how much of this is myth or whatever, but I am really depressed and any help would help! The problem I believe is I owe restitution, so I don't know how that would play out in this mess...

The restitution will follow you onto parole. Can't say which one is easier, probation or parole. Some states have them combined, so if you report to an Officer, he or she will supervise you for both Probation and Parole.

In VA, we supervised both probation and parole, as Igor said. I prefer parole cases because all violation go through the parole board, and whenever we submit a violation, it is a 100% guarantee that the offender will have their parole revoked, and be given back all backup time. We never lose in parole violation. However, probaiton violation go through the original sentencing Court, and Court is a crapshoot. As Igor said, restitution will follow you.
