Default Getting someone out of Mexican jail? Mexicali

How would I go about getting someone out of jail in Mexico? I need to pay the fine. What different types of payments will they accept? Thanks

Be patient. It will take on the average 3 months to pay the fine and go through the system in Mexico. Once you know the amount you will have to change your dollars in to pesos and visit 3 offices in Mexicali. If he is out on his own recognizance your payment it is held in a special bank in Mexicali and returned after one year of sending monthly payments back. HE wont' be out until the fine is paid and after the paperwork is complete. But on the day you pay he will be released by midnight.
This is assuming your person is a Mexican national. If they are an American citizen you still need to be patient. The jail in Mexicali allows money to be put on an inmates books, on certain days and times. They will only be able to call once a week. My husband was there for 3 months and had an excellent public defender because he was considered indigent at the time of his arrest. Visiting is very difficult on Saturday or Sunday depending on his last name and he can delare 2 family members to visit.
My husband's fine was 6000 pesos or about 400 dollars. Have you visited?

Sorry I meant he will send monthly statements in to Mexico City after you pay the fines. After a year of statements you will be able to get your money back, they give the person a choice of paying the fine or doing the time. My husbands choice was 6000 pesos or 14 months. It is very helpful to have money on his books while there. No more than 500 pesos (40 dollars) is allowed to be placed on books at a time.
