I haven't gotten anyone to answer the phone at the medium in days :-( Last I heard from my LO was on 8/26...an email saying it was fixin to get bad. I am probably going with my church in a few weeks to the area to help with flood relief/assistance. Would hate to wait that long to hear something, but I've gotten busy signal at medium all day today. The USP rang, but no one answered

Just heard that one of the facilities got flooded. They will be moving them first. Then the others!?! Can anyone confirm?

Default Missing Him Due to Hurricane Harvey

Does anyone have a significant other that's incarcerated at FCI in Beaumont if so have you heard anything about how they're doing or if they were moved due to the weather, or if they are still just in lockdown until the weather gets better??

No, sorry. I have contacted via phone the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Washington DC and I've also contacted the central regional office in Texas this morning. they told me that the inmates as of yesterday we're still all in Beaumont in the facility I was told to call back in 2 hours for a updated public statement I've been calling with no luck the phone number for the central region Office of the Federal Bureau of Prisons their phone number is 972-730-9600. Also have been going on their webpage which is ww.bop.gov if you click on Hurricane update it tells you that halfway down in the article that the Beaumont facility has been having intermittent problems with electricity but that was an update at 6:05 a.m. this morning nothing since then!
I really hope that everyone in that facility is okay but the way that article makes it sound as they have no food or water so I don't know how they're having all these prisoners survive in there!
That's all i got for now!

I just tried calling that number and its a fax line, it doesn't ring. Thank you for the other updates though. From what I have read online - they are just going to let them sit there until we all call and basically demand our LOs be treated like human beings. That is what happened in both 2005 and 2008.

Sorry the correct number is 9727308600 for the central region office and the number for Washington DC is 2023073198. Now the southeast regional office is also helping out, just don't have that number handy. Once i get it i will post it on here!

as long as we can do anything to help so that they are not forgotten for humanity's sake. I've been looking at videos on you tube. but there isn't very many post on beaumont. I contacted someone who I work with thru my company, and she is literally one zip code away and she said her home is about 50% under water. that hurrican hoovered over beaumont more than corpus . and I think they got more water last night and today. so yea.. it doesn't seem bad but it might be really bad. and I read the article about the last bad hurricane and they were in there forgotten for 2 weeks .soo yeaa let's work together I'm 10 hrs away but I'm available to help in any way

I believe the lockdown and the hurricane are too inter-related at this point to separate the two....what would happen is that we'd have folks posting in both threads (cross posting) about the lockdown AND the hurricane

Ya'll are doing a wonderful job of keeping each other informed!! Thank You!!

He's in Beaumont USP and spoke to him yesterday, electricity was out and using generators. Spoke to friend in Port Arthur that reported the prison has not evacuated. She was watching airboats rescue. Streets are flooded. This was 4 hours ago.

I called the police department in Beaumont, and they said the FCC was not flooded. My husband is at the camp. I spoke to him yesterday, but no emails or calls today. All we can do is pray at this point.

The FCC is the entire complex, which includes the low, medium, camp, and USP. Hope this helps.

So I've been on the Facebook page and have learned that low did flood the first floor but the inmates were moved up to higher floors....no power but the low has had much more contact then any of us have from usp....I'm sure if there was flooding in usp they did the same and moved them up....it's just a waiting game to reestablish communication
