Why don't you tell us some of the things that she discussed with you that motivated and uplifted you?

I wish I had that when I was inside. The loneliness and sense of abandonment made it unbearable. Because of that, I make absolutely sure that my girl gets at least one email from me a day. Written mail and phone calls as much as possible, but she can at least count on that one email every day.

I write my husband, but not every day. I'm unsure how to say this, but I don't write to him every day because, on top of not always having much to write beyond "I love you," I don't want it to become something he's so used to that it no longer means much to him. I want him to have something to look forward to so that, even if nothing comes in that day, perhaps something will come tomorrow and he can look forward to that. Plus then I can pull off little surprises like sending him the first Halloween card I have ever sent in my life. Unfortunately, circumstances made the card late, so he ended up being told he had a surprise coming for him in the mail with no details beyond that, but still.
