Billerica HOC - questions

Hi everyone.. my man has been here now for about 45 days...Anyone else have a LO here?

JW if anyone knows how to find the canteen price list? I wanted to know how much money he would need each week, I've been putting about $50 on but think it might be too much?

Also, has anyone else recently had problems with the mail? It not getting sent out from there, taking forever for them to get mail? He has mailed me a letter every other day and I haven't gotten one for ten days! and when I do get them, they are post marked over a week after he wrote them and put them in the mail box there... craziness.

Let me know of any experiences with this facility you have had.... so far its not bad for a house of corrections...

My husband was at Plymouth and it was expensive there. I think he spent about $50 a week and he was trying to be conservative. I couldn't find a commissary list for Billerica either.

Does anyone who has been inside recently know how things are there now?
I’m about to go in for a 6 month sentence and was wondering with all the new laws and all if there’s any possibility for getting into a program to traduce my sentence?

Mark0099, There is a group that does a lot of volunteer work at BOC. Maybe they can give you some ideas or connect you with someone. My neighbor just got out but he was so depressed I think he just sat on his bunk. The name of the group is Concord State Prison Outreach but they work in more places. https://www.concordprisonoutreach.org/

Thanks man. I wanted to also know how long it takes to get into programs right away to start earning good time and get released earlier.

With a 6 month sentence you may not be able to get into any programs. When my husband was at Plymouth County those were only for people serving more time. I hope I'm wrong for your sake. Somewhere on here there's a link to prison etiquette. It has proven to be very helpful for a lot of people. Best of luck I hope your time passes quickly and uneventfully.
