Smile LGBT in Ireland - I am crying

It has been a long time since I cried tears of joy. Today I did and I am not ashamed of it. I am so proud to be living in Ireland right now. The Irish people have done the right thing despite scare mongering and homophobia. Today common sense, decency and HUMANITY have prevailed. I am neither gay nor do I believe in marriage, but those who are and believe are now free to do so without any law preventing it. Rainbows everywhere smile. And I can feel the love today xxxx.

Landslide victory and record turnout. 61.2% voted YES to equality and gay marriage .

Ireland has come a LONG way.

YES IRELAND!!!!!

A historic day, and a bloody fantastic one in my opinion. I grew up in England thinking I'd never be able to marry so the conversion of our civil partnership last year was emotional.

This was a wonderful day for the straight people of Ireland - finally they have been able to speak as a majority and show the kindness and fairness which they hold in their hearts. LGBT communtiy can walk taller and enjoy being included in a society which is not as afraid as the nay-sayers would have had us all believe. Big-up to the brave voters today. Ireland is not as controlled as some would like to believe. Truly a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow,
