Hello !

Another one from Denmark - with her "roots" in Germany though. I wrote in my introduction, the connection to prison system is a longer story, Ive friend in Texas....

You all sound so special, nice and caring.... I laughed about your shouting Phil in Paris when I had introduced myselv.

Kristin, I live in Odense. If you like to come by one day I'd love it. I also wonder if you a couple of years ago have been on a demonstration in Copenhagen in front of the american embassy - agains death penalty ?? It just came to my mind...

Greetings to you all ..., Karlina

Happy Christmas fellow Europeans,
I,m from London,England originally.I lived in Italy for a while, near Amalfi, and now I am back in Engalnd living in a beautiful little coastal town on the West coast, where I am surrounded by green hills, and a lovely stretch of coastline.I am in a serious relationship with a guy who is in prison in the States.I'm off to visit in the next couple of months,so I'll keep you posted. This is a great forum-very friendly and supportive.
Happy Christmas to everyone
Racki

hello Racki
I am Hilde, I live in Belgium, and my soon to be husband is in prison in the US...we were planning to get married last november, I was there for a visit before thanksgiving, but the paperwork took so long and was not ready and the chaplain won't do the wedding, but I will hopefully go back in april or may and then get married for sure.....nice to see you here, when will you visit and have you been there before? I will look at another forum to read more about you...maybe you posted about yourself before...anyway...really nice to see you here....happy christmas back to you, although I don't like these days so much with my man so far away...

Hi Hilde, sorry to hear that the wedding couldn't go through, but then you'll have something really positive to focus on for 2003.I think it's always a help to make plans, set dates, even if they are for smaller celebrations ...winter solstace, the 12th day of Chistmas, valentines day,as the time passes with a significance attatched, albeit slowly.I must admit,November really dragged for us both ,particularly with winter definately setting in here in England!I'm absolutely terrified and exighted about the visit.I'll be going to Colorado.either Feb or March 2003,and,no,I've never visited before. There's so much to think about, and I agreed with your previous suggestion that it would be a great idea to have local hospitality houses. That way alot of the stress could be taken out of long distance travelling. However,on this note I think I might have cracked it;there are some decent hostels in Denver, not only for young backpackers, but all sorts of people from all over the world looking for well priced accomodation.I've stayed in others in the US,clean, safe, with lots of interesting people to meet.Anyway,I will be able to travel to the prison from Denver,I hope.
Thanks for your kind words-I try to visit PTO each day-I find it a great source of comfort.
Racki

dear Racki, I have that, I always need something to look forward to...a visit is the best of course...last time it took me more then two years till I could go back and see my baby again...it was too long....too long...and this time, it seems I love him and miss him more then ever...i can't wait another two years again...I had to last time because I had no free days at all, but this year I had free days and I looked for the cheapest time to go see him . the year was almost over by the time I finally got to leave Belgium, and because I took the cheapest flight and time, it meant I could not see him on a free day in America...but the four hours I saw him were the best hours in two years and I won't wait that long again....
I know you will be alright when you visit your love, because at that time all that will be important is to be with him and nothing will come between you and your man...I don't remember much about the times I have been there then the time I spend with Clinton...I still know all that was said at every visit, so does he....it is so great to finally be with the one who loves you and makes love to you through letters...nothing can compare that feeling...you will be alright, more so ow you are here at PTO....they helped me a lot last time when I went to America...you will be okay and soon you will be with the man you love, the long travel, the tiredness stress and hour difference will mean nothing when you are with him....I hope you can go soon!

Default Germany....

I am here in Europe as well, Germany to be precise. Been stationed here about 2.5 years now and I have loved every minute of it.

Most American never don't get the experience of seeing the beauty and the culture of this side of the world. I can only speak about my experiences and travels here on the continent.

I have made some hard choices as of late, but have come to the decision of relocating here. Having been away from the USA for the last 5 years, I have not found myself missing it at all.

My Angel knows that my heart is with her, but she is emphatic that I live out my dreams here and now...and that is what I am doing.

Hi AbleDog

Where are you in Germany ?? And welcome to the European forum too
One of these days, we'll have to make a "get together" too !!
Holland or Belgium would be probably the most "central" place to gather all of us.

Default The land of Bier and Pretzels..

Hey Phil,

I am in Bavaria (Bayern), about an hour away from Nurenburg, and 2 hours from Stuttgart. I live in a town of about 40,000 surrounded by farmland. They say Germany is overcrowded, but from where I am at...its quiet and peaceful.

Able

Hello! My name is Helen and I live in the North of England. I am new to this website and this is the first post I've made, so fingers crossed!

I write to prisoners on Death Row in the States and have done so now for about 10 years, including visiting a few. I am also in a relationship with a man in a prison in England. Fortunately he is only about an hour's drive away so I am able to visit him regularly.

Thanks for a brilliant website. I've looked through many of the forums already and can't believe I've not found you all before.

Hello Hilde, thankyou. I write to a few men in Virginia, in Sussex and one in Wallens Ridge.
I'd better explain. I belong to an organisation in England that finds penfriends for men and women on DR in the States. I am the Co-ordinator for Virginia and Arkansas So I'm in touch with a few men on DR there, as well as a penfriend to men in TX, MS & GA. As I said in my last post, I am also in a relationship with a prisoner in this Country.
I look forward to posting more in the future.
