Hello, I'm looking for Darnell Christopher Smith from Minnesota.
He used to be in Oak Park Heights MN Prison. After my research he was still in a prison in New Mexico 3 years ago. I spent a lot of time and energy to find him, but all the trouble was in vain, he is "swallowed up by the system".
Slowly I'm running out of ideas.
Does anyone know where he is imprisoned?
Does anyone know him?
Or does someone have contact with him?
An address?!
I really want a penpal with him!!!
Please help me and excuse my bad English
Thank you for nice words!
I wish him and me so much. I find it unbelievable how your system works (privatization and isolation isolation - detention) that is trafficking and torture but not justice in my eyes.
He are reduced to a mistake in life. 2,3, seconds ..... forever!
I'm a pitbull and will not give up but it's tough, I have all the numbers, OID, offender, NMCD .... and still can not find him.
What justice?!
Maybe someone has an idea
Yes, that is him.
In a non-DOC facility but where?
The letters I wrote to Oak Park Heights came back and I saw a tv documentary from New Mexico and there he was !!!
The report is 3 years old
I also sent an e-mail to co-records.doc-state-mn.
And for once, I even got an answer.
Here's the answer :
Per DOC policy, we do not disclose location of offenders incarcerated out of state.
DOC Records

He's probably at an undisclosed location because of the notoriety of his case. It will remain a secret to everyone but his immediate family most likely.

Premise on the extreme/inhumane brutality of his most staid crime that many remember, (RIP)to the innocent victim, RIP it sure wouldn't surprise me if he was moved again. However, upon reading the OP(original poster)i see her account is closed, so be safe out there... and God bless...Adios."

Is it common that this happens? I'm just curious. My B had a case that was really famous at the time it occurred and he and his accomplices were all over the news. Their story was on two different program and an entire documentary was created about him and one of his accomplices (all are recent). It took me, after finding the correct site, less than a minute to find him. Why would they hide an inmates location?

It varies from state to state, but often they do it for the security of the inmate. You would be amazed at the amount of convicts who would assault said inmate for the notoriety.
Another reason is to prevent any assisted escape attempts if the inmate is transferred to another facility or gets transported back and fourth for their court case.
Where do you think he is? If US federal prison is involved, here is the link to the inmate locator. Only one person with that name is still in their custody. https://www.bop.gov/inmateloc/
You havent given us much to go on. I know vinelink is not available outside of the USA but if he is a state prisoner in MN he should be on the inmate locator.

non-DOC facility suggests he has been moved out-of-state, quite possibly on a Compact transfer. However, that does not mean they will show up in the other State's locator. I've seen this more than once, especially in cases where some manner of protection was required.
But the length of time with which this search has gone on is just crazy...perhaps even more than the inmate. As a result, I am not going to discuss the other avenues that have not been explored and that would likely produce results...
